REBEL SISTERS

In the late 60’s - early 70’s, as civil rights and laws where evolving, a group of nuns from L.A believed in gender equality, anti-racism, social equality, education, anti-war. With their rebel voice, these sisters challenged the notion of what a nun, and even more important, what a WOMAN should be.

These group of brave women, stood up and raised a loud voice (Corita Kent was part of this group), helping to change society while serving their community. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary represented many of GAVIRIA’s values and for this season, we payed tribute to them.

ROARING TWENTIES

“We've gone through our deepest fears, we've survived hours and hours of zoom meetings in pyjamas, endless months homeschooling, countless Netflix marathons, we've even survived Bridgerton...

Just like Queen Elizabeth said, " better days will return: we will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again".

It looks like we will see those days at the end of the year (2021), and we should celebrate like we never did.

No more tracksuits, no more slippers, no more boring Fridays in front of the computer. Long live the high heels, the bling-bling, party dresses and exquisite luxury treats. Let's take care of ourselves and let's kiss again, let's hug again, let's swim in champagne again, let's dance together until the sun comes out, just like in the roaring twenties! WAIT! aren't we in the twenties? It's curious like everything always comes back.”
